Forgive this intrusion, this is meant for those whom use the said hub for
fidonet mail. Those whom do are asked to tune into the EASTSTAR echo.

The Eastern Star Mail Hub - Online Status Info

This message will apply to those folks whom use my mail hub for:

* Fidonet Mail/File Feeds, either as a peer or downlink. (1:123/500)
* The BBS via WWW, (1:123/1011)
* Fidonet Via News Reader using the JAMNNTPD Server. (1:123/789)

While the system on average enjoys high and reliable uptimes, there
are times when Murphy strikes which can affect the system uptime. The
reasons can be many, but are typically the usual suspects such as the
weather.

I have in place a method in which one can reasonably determine whether
or not a connectivity or downtime issue exists with the mail hub system.
Additionally this means also provides one a method to contact me if
indeed the system is off the air.

On this page you will see a weather widget that will denote the current
weather conditions and forecast to help one surmise if any connectivity
issues might be weather related. The weather widget shows data relevant
to my local area. Additionally there is a time widget that will reflect
the current local time for the mail hub.

Every hour on the hour the mail hub machine uploads a uptime status
report to this web page that shows the top 3 system uptimes in addition
to the current time that report was generated. If the system is down or
off the air, this report wont be able to be uploaded.

If anyone has a connectivity issue with the hub, they can check this
page and compare the time differences between what the time widget
reports and the uptime report, if there is greater than a 1 to 2 hour
difference, then there might be an issue?

a special email address on my PDA/Cellphone.
