Conducting research on people who already had syphilis was one thing.
If I recall correctly, they were not GIVEN the disease, although I have
heard people talk about the study AS IF they believed that the
researchers actually GAVE the disease to the subjects.  But when
effective treatment was withheld from some, just to study the progress
of the disease, that was revolting and inhuman.  Not as bad as some of
the infamous Nazi experiments, where people were frozen or beaten or
infected with diseases intentionally, but still revolting and inhuman.

But since you strayed into an actual discussion of a subject, with your
one word response, could you elaborate as to why you think that Tuskegee
was "far worse" that the purported creation of AIDS for intentional
genocide of an entire race!

A phrase that is old enough that I don't recall the origin, but relating
to a silence that is so profound that you can hear far-away crickets
chirping.  An "out in the middle of nowhere" sort of silence that one
usually doesn't hear with all the daily noises drowning it out.  It is
often applied to Sauer's posts, since he likes to toss out comments and
then ignore all responses.  The sound of footsteps running into the
distance, and then nothing.
