While I'm more acquainted with epoxy resin as an amateur boatbuilder, I =
know that our telescope (a 1.5 meter aperture Cassegrain made by =
Brashear-Contraves) has indeed epoxied components. Namely, the primary =
mirror (a full thickness f/1.5 paraboloid) stays in an isostatic cell, =
and many supports are actually epoxied to the mirror blank.
