FW> Right off the top, congrats to you & yor 222 crew for earning the
FW>award in the *first* place - it's no mean task! Philmont is *the*
FW>place to do it, of course, but that doesn't make it any less of an
FW>accomplishment. You absolutely should display it with pride.
FW>
FW> 3 places it may be displayed:
FW> On the uniform shirt, on the R pocket, in the space reserved for
FW>a badges on temporary display. I'm torn between sewing things
FW>there & sticking 'em in the plastic protectors that hang from the
FW>pocket flap button (the Scout Shop has one that the 50 Miler fits
FW>into exactly). Only 1 badge may be displayed there at a time.
FW> On the back of the Merit Badge sash.
FW> On a patch vest.
Right off the bat I would like to thank everyone for the reply
about the 50-Miler Patch. I was over-whelmed with mail today directing
me where to put this "Big Patch."
I am still at a loss to figure out what to do with this patch.
The best place I have thought of is in a picture frame with me and my
crew on top of the "Tooth." I was hoping there was a seperate place for
this patch on the uniform. Several patches are given out this
way......for example:
Waterfront Patches--- You can earn the Mile Swim,
Snorkeling and the Lifeguard patch, but how many
scouts have a seperate scout bathing suit to
place these patches on. ( Ok, I confess....I
bought one at K-Mart REAL cheap because I am a
Lifeguard at Camp Tukabatchee here in AL. )
I know it is an arguement that will never end....and there are
TOO many patches to all be placed on the uniform.
But as for Philmont.....If you haven't been....GO! Just don't
go during MONSOON season! :)
Thanks Again,
Tres Coker
