File -> Open.
Change to whatever directory the NORMAL.DOT is in.
Change the file type (bottom left of dialog box) to either *.* or *.dot.
Select Normal.Dot.
Make the changes.
Save it.  Be sure to save it as a *.dot file (should happen by default).
