Hello Gregory,
Yes the Yamaha Prologic Processor/Preamp you inquired about is very
popular here in the US. Yamaha has earned an excellent reputation in the
consumer electronics field, through solid design and build. I have heard
numerous Yamaha units on display are the different shops and they sounded
very good. The $400 cited (with conversion) seemed very reasonable. I
expected the price to be considerably higher, for some reason.
The Chase ProLogic Processor (Passive) I told you about is being
discontinued by the manufacturer and is being cleared out(drastically reduced
price) at $49 (US) per unit. I do not know if a new model is coming out or
not. I am going to be upgrading mine very soon, so the price drop almost
makes mine not worth trying to sell. Tell you what. When I upgrade, I'll send
you this Chase unit with the manual and you can see if it will work with your
system. Since there is no power involved you won't have to make any voltage
adjustments, etc., and set up should be easy.
        My mailing address (Postal) is:
                   John Allen
                 626 South Terrapin Street
                 Mesa, Arizona, USA 85208-2071
Send me your Postal address and I will forward the unit to you in a
couple weeks.
        Cheers, John
