What?   I don't know, I never considered that it might be and am not
sure what you mean by "morally superior".  Superior to what?.

My opinion was (and, despite Monte's best efforts, still is) that the
"laws and customs" of war, which George was using to justify
treatment of captives whom he claims avoid them, rarely survive the
necessities of the moment in wartime.  The immolation of German and
Japanese cities filled with civilians may have been necessary evils, but
they were certainly not acts that were in accord the laws and customs of
which George spoke.
