And no doubt if you were to call my M34F you would also get a 33600 connect,
but my calling you will always limit to 31200 because of the 3429 symbol rate
being rejected by the courier.

By the way does anyone else notice anything buggy with your modems? There
seems to be some problem with the modem lights going hard on while receiving
data, it takes a couple of seconds, during which nothing happens, then all
of a sudden the data comes in, usually with the first few bytes being
garbage.

The only other modem I've seen this with was some old v.32bis models which I
think had buggy v.42bis implementations.

Apart from that the connection is pretty good:

Terminal : 115200 8 data bits No Parity
  Line : 31200 V.34 (3200baud Pre-emphasis Filter: 8
  Resolution EQM: 155-155<154<271<450)
  Error Correct : LAPM
  Compression : V.42bis 2048 32 tx/rx
  Encryption : None
  Current EQM : 032
  EQM Retrain at: 096
  Rx Level(-dBm): 024 (034 )

  CONNECT 31200/LAP-M/V.42bis/V.34
