I have to say that my suspicion is that the problems are not going to be a
shift in one direction per se but a simple increase in chaos.

The last 10K years (which is when our (human) "civilization" has
emerged) has been very unusually stable which may in itself be the reason
why we went from sheltering in caves to going to the moon.

My suspicion is that rather "everything gets warmer thus..." we
are going to see the equivalent of a brownian motion experiment on a global
scale ie. "everything gets more chaotic thus...everything gets much
harder to predict". Next year you could have tornadoes in spain or
hurricanes in Argentina.

The one I'm watching wrt future humanity is whether Oz starts picking up
more rainfall (esp how deep into the interior) coz if so then hopefully
lots of low lying places can shift their people there.
