Tamerlane was a poor second to Hulagu Khan
When Hulagu Khan sacked Baghdad in 1258 ( 800,000 slaughtered ) he was
praised by the Pope ( Clement ? ) at the time for this act aiding
Christianity ( Hulagu's wife was Christian )
