One would reconcile its balance with the cash on hand. The problem
in not being able to "reconcile" cash accounts is that there's no
other way to "clear" cash transactions en masse, doing a year-end
eliminates only cleared transactions, and cash transactions will
be with you forever due to the inability to conveniently "clear"
them. The problem's exacerbated by the fact that there'll be far
more transactions in the cash account than any other if one's
keeping complete records of cash payments.
