Hello Bob!

13 May 08 11:38, you wrote to me:

Yes and I am clarifying the differences between what is DOS and what was.

Why not close all open windows and then peek into the task manager and tell
me Windows isnt multi-tasking?

Perhaps you lack the ability to comprehend what I said?

For example, right now I am in a console window, merely one created by a
SSH client. I am using Secure Shell to log into another windows machine
that in turn puts me at the command prompt for that machine. I then read my
fidomail that way using 32 bit console apps, such as my reader and the
tosser. Note, I said 32bit console apps, which run properly on a 32bit OS
with no need to call up the 16bit command interpreter. (COMMAND.COM)

RC>> I setup FREEDOS to run in one of these virtual machines and

A Virtual machine is a world unto itself.

BK>>> However, how do you access your hard drive without a disk
 BK>>> operating system?

 RC>> Semantics...

BK> Yes. That is the point.

RC>> Without Windows, anything DOS couldnt access my hard drives.

BK> And without some form of DOS Windows couldn't access your hard
BK> drives. Remember what DOS is an acronym for.

Well then Windows is a printer operating system, and I could list all the
other hardware..

Dont split hairs here Bob, you are bald.
