-> A couple people I've encountered who were in the Army back in the late
50's or
-> early 60's, mentioned "Ft. Y-Choo-ka."
->
-> They called it "Ft Hoochie-Coochie" though.

Never heard that. Man, that place has a looong history. A Great place, but
I lived off-post so I didn't get to know it well. A HUGH place! I was
assigned to an Aviation Engineering Construction Battalion the main purpose
of which, I gathered, was to teach people how to build Hangers...and to lay
out huge amounts of asphalt. Evidently it takes a long time to take people
out of boot camp give 'em 12 weeks of what ever they teach and then have
them build hangers. I thought it was slow going, it seems they didn't want
any hangers, just people who knew how to build 'em. KINDA interesting...I
guess. I spent my time at Batallion HQ, didn't learn how to build a single
hanger.
