Even so it was completely unrelated. There is a strong currrent tendency
here in Germany for employers being pressurised and people losing their
jobs for political activism in legal non-fringe parties exceeding the 5
% limit in state elections. And these are not even state controlled
industries as in Stalinist East Germany.
I am far too young to have experienced the Nazis but I do know Stalinism
and the current wave of thugs marching in the streets and intimidating
dissenters smells far more of the former than the latter.
