Yo! Hayes Support:
Hey, I have this continuing problem with an Optima 288. You guys sent me a
chip upgrade a few months ago, but it did nothing to resolve the problem.
Here, let me describe it again:
With no discernible pattern of regularity, the modem eventually goes into a
mode where it cannot connect with other modems it dials. There are lots and
lots of negotiations followed by silence until the eventual disconnect.
There seems to be less or no problem associated with inbound calls; just
outbound, or at least it's noticeable with outbounders.
The fix is to turn the modem OFF....and after a few seconds, back on. Then
it works fine for an indeterminant period thereafter.
Info on the modem is as follows:
ati4
a116843C084E7702F080000D
bC60047000
r100111115131600C7
r30001111FF1000000
I have another Optima 288 that NEVER exhibits this problem. Any relief?
