Yeah, I've had a look at that and I like that feature.  Also, from what I've
heard, Windows 8 users will soon have to upgrade to 8.1 anyway - I've heard
Microsoft made Windows 8.1 a free upgrade from 8.0 and will make (force?) all
apps to be 8.1-compliant, basically making 8.0 obsolete.

I've seen some of those shell/start menu replacements for Windows 8.  I'd want
to use one of those if/when I upgrade.  I've even seen one of those
pre-installed on a Windows 8 machine (I don't remember which company made the
PC).  I thought it was rather comical to see that - Basically the PC maker
acknowledging users' complaints about Windows 8 and giving Microsoft the
finger.
