[I presume some automated piece of software would need to know, as any observer would be able to tell from the sound, what modulation protocol was being used]. 14k4 is 14k4 is 14k4, assuming no upshifting occurs. SL> BTW I've never forced a "slow" V.34 connection so I don't know if "/V.34" SL> is appended to CONNECT 2400, CONNECT 9600, etc. Have you tried? I don't have an M34F any more to test.
