I understand and perhaps it wasn't the best example, but I'm trying to get
a better definition of "more violent" in order to make this an
intelligent discussion. Every time I tried to talk about it folks switch
from "more violent" to "more energy" and that just
doesn't work. A large general heavy rain has more energy than a small very
violent thunderstorm that spawns off tornados, we need to distinguish
between energy and violence for this discussion.

IOW, if adding energy to the system simply means that desert areas will
become rain forests that is a way with no violent storms involved. The
viewpoint that more energy means more violent storms is not a for sure
thing, violent storms are caused by inconsistency in the atmosphere, a
greenhouse effect tends to create consistency.
