	Lists of Military Medal Recipients, Continually Updated

As you may know, the only military medal recipient list budgeted by the United
States Congress for ongoing maintenance and Service Branch sharing is the Medal
of Honor, due to the fact that it is far too expensive in dollars and manhours
for each of the four Service Branches (five during wartime) to devote precious
resources to maintaining combined rosters of military medal recipients. This
task, therefore, has been undertaken by the American War Library, founded in
1988, which has independently budgeted all the funds required to compile and
perpetually maintain roster names of military medal recipients.

The following Medal and Award lists awarded for Individual Performance are
currently being compiled by the American War Library. The continually updated
lists are accessible to War Library subscribers from the G.I. Photograph Museum
of Honor. These lists are amended regularly as new recipient names are acquired
from official and unofficial sources. New lists will be initiated periodically
and are free to download.
