While in Roatan I visited two resorts on the West End.
The first called SeaGrape Plantation was a little rustic, no
air condiditioning.  The cabins were all wood with ceiling
fans and have nice baths.
A package at SeaGrape was $599.00 for 3 meals, 2 boat dives,
all the shore dives you wanted.
The second place I visited was Sunset Inn/Ocean divers.
Sunset Inn is located in the middle of the village of West
End and is not upscale at all, but they do have some air
conditioned rooms.  Although they do not price a meal plan
with their packages the owner offered to quote me one if I
wished.  Prices were similar to Sea Grape Plantation.
Both resorts offered to confirm reservations by fax to me
and cut prices if I paid on arrival with USDollars or
American Travelers checks.  I was also offered the cut
prices for USDollars in the Dominican Republic.  It appears
that for what the travel agents take as a commission, the
resorts can cut prices and still do better if paid on
arrival.
