Laurie-When you first said that you didn't see the FAX REVENGE concept as
viable, I didn't realize you had a vested interest as someone who uses
"ad faxes."
I've been on the receiving end of this garbage and have little patience with
those who want to do promotion on the cheap by burning up recipients'
machine, phone access, and supplies cost.
The last time some jerky operation sent me junk faxes (in this case for junk
jewelry...makes a good match with junk faxes when I think about it), I had to
call them long distance...on my dime, and extend to them a politeness they
hadn't to me--inform them that their faxes were unwanted.
I only called them after receiving about three of this company's asinine
promotions. You see, I thought that after each of these times, the idiots
would stop.
Nope.
I had to take time out of my day and money out of my pocket to stop them from
sending me their 10-15 page promo.
Direct response advertising is an area I work in professionally.
I would never recommend to a client to promote in such an unprofessional
manner.
