DC>> What are you using as a packer? Let's start from there...
JP> Very good question. I hope that you also have the
JP> answer. I use PKzip and PKunzip.
1. what version?
2. what default settings (stored in pkzip.cfg, IIRC)
3. finally, what command line being passed from your olr?
on my systems, i turn off some of the additional memory accessing functions
because there are problems with them...
my basic pk command lines for v2.04g are
pkblah -+- --- -)- filename
-+- turns off EMS usage -++ turns it on
--- turns off XMS usage --+ turns it on
-)- turns off DPMI usage -)+ turns it on
i believe that DPMI was my biggest culprit but i didn't test it that far...
i simply turned off all three and keep it that way and everything i need it
for works as desired...
there is also -3- which will turn off the use of 386/486 32bit codes...
that one may also be needed...
i don't recall where pkzip.cfg is supposed to reside and haven't located
one on my boxes, yet... this seems to point more toward my using those
options on the command line... especially when configuring programs to use
pkzip and pkunzip...
