The guy is deliberately using misleading figures. Nobody puts money into a
savings account anymore, when you have $10K you buy a CD and many people
invest in their 401K instead of a savings account, what they would put into
savings they just leave in a checking account since the interest rate
difference amounts to crap.

The numbers he should use are total investments, 401K's, IRA, CD, etc but
he purposely left those out so he could prove his point.
