Never read it but it sounds like the same line of thinking.

On the wall in my office I have a picture of some far off galaxy, it's a
big disk with dark matter at the edges. The cool thing about the photo is
that the near edge of the disk is 6000 light years closer to us than the
far edge. That's 3X the number of years across than the recorded history of
man.
