I have reservations about active duty personnel engaging in politics (
other than voting). As long as they don't spill operational details, secret
information etc I do think retired officers should have the same right to
criticize as the rest of us do. I think it would be very useful to actually
look at the criticisms there people have made rather than just ruling them
out. I will even say that Rumsfeld has some good ideas and some valid
points with all his shortcomings ( I know we may disagree on that
)
I had dome some looking for the breakdown of retired Flag Officers by year
but have had no luck finding anything. Just active duty numbers.
