Fine in theory wtong in fact.

To start with in most circumstances one person's
word against another will not get to court.
Rapes are frequently taken on no more than the
female's word.

Secondly, although this is not a matter of or
for the court, judgements are passed outside the
court which ruin his life before the verdict is
in. Moreover, his life remains ruined even when
he gets a *not guilty* verdict or worse; when
she is shown to be a LIAR and he is proved (so
far as this can be the case) innocent.
