Hello Mike,

following up a message from Richard Webb to Mike Luther:

RW> Can anybody possibly tell me the ascii code of the
RW> high ascii characters found in this file? Once I find
RW> those magic numbers I can do some things in a batch to
RW> remove them and make direct use of it in a couple
 RW> other applications.

ML> If you have any access to the old utility LIST.COM for DOS from
ML> 1996,you simply 'LIST' the file. In it you can see each character
ML> over on the left side of the page. On the right side of the screen
ML> is the ASCI character for every character in the file. The utility
ML> ought to be available on most of the old MS-DOS archives. My
ML> executable is:

ML> 10-31-96 3:48a 24681 0 LIST.COM
RW> I think that's Vernon Buerg'slist. SPelling might be wrong on his
RW> last name. I think I have an 11/1/93 of that which i use with
RW> inspect and other utilities. I may see if that does it though.

Just looked. THat version doesn't. IT will give me a hex dump of the file but ...

wIll see if I can find the later version somewhere.

Regards,
           Richard
