The national democratic party and its leaders *ARE* socialists.  So its
already happened.

I agree that the incompetent leadership in the republican Congress, McCain
and Graham's traitorous actions on Judges, and some mistakes by Bush in
priorities and handling of post Iraq war, the timing of dumping Rumsfeld,
etc. are to blame.  They blew it, and they haven't done the house cleaning
of the leadership that needs to be done so they are still blowing it.  The
Republicans began their long march toward losing power back in 1998 when
they dumped Newt who was the soul of the new ideas that brought them to
power to begin with.
