I have no doubt the EU will be around in 4 years.  Depends what you mean by
viable, but I don't think will be much different then today.  In many ways
it is set up to be self-sustaining.  Recent talk about just putting in a
constitution without a vote is one way.  More and more they aren't worried
about public opinion.  The death penalty is a small example.  In many
countries a majority favor the death penalty, but it violates all EU laws. 
No chance for the majority to have their voices heard, the government knows
better.

Maybe Brussels will look at the violence the last few nights in France and
decide the voters really didn't pick the correct leader.
