If you register a domain name of your own (I use namecheap.com for my domains)
they can automatically forward mail from that domain to your
"real" address.
So, tomwalker{at}tomwalker.com could redirect to tomwalker{at}dialupISP.com. When you
change to tomwalker{at}newISP.com, or tomwalker{at}yahoo.com, you can change the
tomwalker.com address to point wherever you want.
Domains are cheap - under $10/year with just mail/web redirection.
