subject: Qmodem TD, Pro 1.53

MK>I installed Qmodem TD 4.6 on a friends computer, with his Zoom 28.8
MK>VFPV32bis fax modem. When we dial from the phone directory, QModem won't
MK>exit the phone book and go to terminal mode. We have to escape out of
MK>the phone book to get to terminal mode, and that, of course, blows off
MK>his script. What do I need to change to get the program to exit the
MK>phonebook to terminal mode when connected?
Have you specified the name of the script file in the phone
book entry you are attempting to dial? It should be there. I have a
hunch that might be your problem...
MK>In addition, another friend is using Qmodem Pro 1.53, and wants to setup
MK>his function keys to automatically pull his password and ID from the
MK>phonebook for each system he calls. I couldn't find the way to set this
MK>up in the docs. Can it be done, and if so, how, and where did I miss it
MK>in the docs? Thanks.
Rather than trying to use function keys, take a look at the
sample script files included with QmPro and read the instructions
provided about the Script Language. The system variables $USERID will
use the User Id from the phonebook entry and $PASSWORD will use the
password from the phonebook entry, plus you won't have to do anything
and/or remember the associated function key to use.... The following is
a part of a typical login script that I use:
---- CUT ----
WaitFor "first name" ; Waiting For First Name Prompt
Delay 100
Send "$USERID^M" ; Send Accounts UserId Name
Waitfor "Password" ; Waiting For Password Prompt
Delay 100
Send "$PASSWORD^M" ; Send Account Password
---- CUT ----
