There is just such a way.  I just use OPEN "COM" and sometimes even ON
COM with it.  It works just fine for everything I've ever done (all BBS
related items).  I really see no need for 3rd party comm routines
unless you need more than com1-com4, and then i just use inp and out.
PB 3.2 will have 16550 support in it as well which may cut down on
error 57's when not using ME option.       Eric
