The US *WAS* the engine which drove the world economy. Now the EU economy
is bigger & the Chinese one will be soon. You have goen from a creditor
nation to a debtor nation kept afloat by the Chinese.

As for beneficial etc. Forced into ending slavery by the British, forced
into free trade by the British. How many functioning democracies round the
world has the US created vs the British?
