BTW based on this experience.....

& given these things are

(A) Quite tough
(B) Incredibly simple
(C) Brilliant EM mirrors....
(D) easy to disassemble into a tiny package (2 bendy rods (4 if you want to
keep the package length down (i.e. join 2 together to make 1))..... (E) fly
in both the lightest & very strong winds. When the wind strengthens
they simply spin faster.

I have suggested at various times (& do so again) that they should be a
std part of a life-raft's kit  as both a sail & a beacon.

One of these say 500 metres up would be visible for possibly hundreds of
miles (esp if you were being looked for by aircraft).
