That is true with microsoft's product but not with POWERBASIC, PowerBASIC has
no faults, well only one. No OS/2 version... YET! BUT soon, I hope!
Right?,,, DAVE!

(POWERBASIC 3.2! with POINTERS!) eat your heart out microsoft... :)

I think the person repling to Roderick's message forgot that this is the
PowerBASIC conference but that's alright... There is a library called PCL4PB
it is a serial library and I think it will do everything you want and much
more. You can also use PowerBASIC and write your own code, or use a FOSSIL.
MarshallSoft Computing, Inc. is where you can purchase the PCL4PB
library. Their BBS number is 205-880-9748, you might want to download
it and give it a try before you buy... BTW: if you buy the library, the
source code is included...
Another source for a serial library would be Crescent Software, in West
Redding Connecticut but I don't have their phone number. They've converted
most of the QuickBASIC source to PowerBASIC and I know they had a serial
library for QuickBASIC and PDS. And you also get the source code when you
buy...
BTW: No copyright notices are required with the above libraries, and you have
the source code...
