If you want to go to a higher level, you need a assembler. The common used
assemblers are MASM from microsoft, and TASM from borland. Ofcourse these
two assemblers are commercial software, so you have to buy them.
Alternatively you can use a shareware or freeware assembler. A86 is a well
know shareware assembler that you can find on some BBS's.
So, the first question is, 'what is the assembly-program that you have or
you want to use to write your programs?' If we know that, then we can give
some examples specific for that assembler.
BTW, please don't ask me where you can find these assemblers, because I
live in Belgium, so, it won't be useful for you when I give the names of
some BBS's here ;-)

Mmm, you have Td, so it's very likely that you also have TASM. Have you
already written a program with TASM?

Have you already written some programs in assembly? IF NOT, try to start
with something very easy, like a program that prints your name on the
screen. So, you can learn the essentially things.
IF YES, what
information to you need. What are the specific problems that you have with
writing this HEX-editor?
