  I had something like that happen years ago as well.  Though my current
ECS install uses HPFS with no problems under Virtualbox.

  I've been fighting for probably a total of 7 hours now trying to get
ECS to see my damn windows8 box though.  I can ping it, but when trying
to connect to network shares just get Security errors.  It can see my
XP machine with no problems though.  Soooo frustrating.
