| subject: | Re: Kansas National Guard lack of heavy equipment |
From: Rich Gauszka Nice press release. I wonder if Tony Snow typed it? Snow on Tuesday morning first said "As far as we know, the only thing the governor has requested are FM radios," Later he had to admit that statement was wrong as Kansas had requested search and rescue, a mobile command center, radios, and extra copters. I'm Sure Rush will only state Snow's first utterance Even the guard says they are under equiped. I posted the GAO report pdf link yesterday http://www.azstarnet.com/news/181996 "Most of the units in the Army and Air National Guard are underequipped for the jobs and the missions that they have to perform" domestically, Lt. Gen. Steven Blum, chief of the National Guard bureau, told Congress last month. "Can we do the job? Yes, we can. But the lack of equipment (means it takes) longer to do that job, and lost time translates into lost lives, and those lost lives are American lives."
