| subject: | ATM new pitch lap |
From: "Jerry B. Hillman" To: Reply-To: "Jerry B. Hillman" Hi all, After much frustrating effort I have decided to put the 16.5" tile tool I made awhile back to use as a full size pitch lap. I have a kilogram of #64 pitch still unopened. It should be enough to pour a pitch lap. I am concerned that it is #64 since I understand that its working temp is 64 degrees. It is much hotter here than that so I guess I will have to cook it a little to make it harder. My mirror is resisting my efforts working TOT to make the necessary changes to the edge. With a full size pitchlap I will be able to work MOT without so much risk of astigmatism as I would have if I worked MOT with a 10" pitchlap. I have never made a pitchlap this size but it shouldn't be difficult with the pitchlap mold I have. Being able to work MOT will enable me to apply some of what I learned on the 10" mirror I made to this mirror, and pull this thing through to completion. Hopefully, I will also have my web site back up so that I can post more Ronchi pics for evaluation. Thanks to all who are helping me and following my progress. It means a lot to me to have your support. Clear skies, Jerry --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/100 1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
