Yeah, but be carefull with that 'we' elected Bush, it isn't all inclusive. I recall British newspapers taking us for task the second go round Something to the effect of: How can nn million Americans be so stupid? I get my news from around the world in order to get some kind of balance. I'm finding U.S. news sources to be less and less credible all the time. I reallly do not believe Palin poses any kind of threat, she'll merely drain off enough votes to do a Nader on the Republicans as he did on us in the 2000 elections. Now mind you I no longer believethe Democrats, though now registered such, are to be trusted now either. There's a lot of enertia in Washington and this Democracy has largely been 'privitized' by corporate lobbiests. I figure it'll take near 20 years just to undo the damage done by the last administration and that only if we get three consecutive good Presidents. Obama all the more looks like he's pulling a "Goliath Davis" on us to me. He was a local black man I supported for St. Petersburg police chief. He said all the right things but once in office the good old boy network and the existing enertia in the department thwarted him and ultimately he bailed. This Democratic majority Congress hasn't much impressed me so far either. That said, Obama is doing well on a few issues, just not nearly enough IMO. For my money, ALL professional politicians should be replaced by people with something in common with the people, after all they're suppoosed to represent us. My first choice, merchants with the proven inborn sense to have successfully run a business. How can they represent us when they have to kowtow to corperate supporters with the kind of $ to raise a Billion dollars to run an Presidential election campaign and tens of millions to run for Congress? Rhetorical question ... It is the best of all possble worlds. --- MultiMail/Linux v0.49* Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 SEEN-BY: 2320/105 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
