If you only have two layers, do they really need to be bonded?  If they are
precision ground, maybe against each other to 320 grit, then keeping them
from sliding relative to each other may be enough.  OK, you wont' be able
to look down over the cliff at the heavenly bodies on the beach below.  But
most skyward heavenly bodies shouldn't be a problem.
