subject: Diving deaths

SE>JG>At one time one of the dive agencies quietly reported
SE>JG>to their instructors that suicides were becoming popular:
SE>JG>people who just kept going down to depths > 300 feet.
SE>For whatever reason, there are a lot of reported scuba deaths
SE>right at the moment. Some from Florida, some from California,
SE>some from Indonesia. some in warm slatwater, some in cooler
SE>freshwater, some involving sharks, some involving extreme
SE>depth.... there's no rhyme or reason to these reports.
WE lost a local diver last month diving off the coast of NC on wrecks.
I have not got the entire story, but something went BIG TIME WRONG! At
least two people ran out of air and were not close to their buddies.
The cause of death of the diver was embolism...he made a rapid acent. He
was flown to the coast and then to Duke/Dan facilities.
