There are many different types of centipedes. However, I've seen a specimen 
of the one you describe. Very nasty creature, indeed.   We don't have any 
species anywhere near that in Western Washington. But I've seen them in 
Northern California.

We've got brown recluses here too. Seems I'm killing one or two a year around 
here because they're so dangerous.
