Hi

I've noted quite a bit of back and forth there between the
hard core right and those on the left. I hope I jerk chains on both sides
equally, because I"m more of a libertarian, in the sense that if a law
makes no sense then it isn't
needed. I even have some trouble with what passes for hard
core libertarian orthodoxy . Just too darned many gray
areas.

Agreed, and one of the problems that always rears it ugly
head in discussions of this type.

A different tack than I would have taken. WEre I in the
shoes of RC in that instance I would have netmailed his host sysop and
advised said sysop that his user was in violation, and to correct the
problem forthwith or I"d institute a feed cut. But, such problems are
why I"ve never really wanted to host a general discussion echo.
Closest I come to it might
be the guitar echo, where I"m willing to allow quite a bit
of latitude, just because the nature of such a forum is that conversatiohn
drifts on and off the stated topic, if it's an active forum. IN such a
forum I"d rather not stifle
discussion. Different strokes, but I wouldn't have handled
that situation the way ROss handled it, but I"m not ROss,
and his style of managing his conferences works for him, and I like to
think mine works for me. But then again, ROss
knows the players quite a bit better than I do.
DD> BTW - has anyone heard from Dan? I haven't seen or heard anything
DD> from him for some months.
I haven't either. I think I did a look at path lines from
last msg I saw from him when I heard that there was a
problem in the northwest with echomail movement. I figured
he had a feed problem. HOwever, that was some months back.
Regards,
Richard
