| subject: | Should this guy be a cop? |
I mean, granted, I have seen cops with beer guts. But 5 feet 9 and 300 pounds??!!?? Uh uh. Chris Parent said he was flabbergasted Monday when he was sent home on his first day back on the job as a Bellevue police officer. Parent, 53, was reinstated last Wednesday after 20 months of legal battles with the City of Bellevue that began when he was fired for not being physically fit. He said in an interview Tuesday that he was handed a letter and told to go home after he arrived Monday for his first day back at work. Parent said the letter was to inform him that he was on paid leave, pending a medical evaluation. "I was completely flat-footed," he said. "I was ready to go back to work." Michael Polk, an attorney representing the city, said Parent is a city employee. Like all sworn officers, Parent is required to pass a state qualification gun test before he can act in the official capacity of an officer. http://www.omaha.com/article/20090729/NEWS01/707299936 --- Xnews/5.04.25* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2320/100 105 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
