While I don't have a car, I do have a Speedway card, where you can get
points to redeem for little things.
One also saves a few pennies at the pump on gas.
I used that when working and filling the golf cart and kept the points.
:)
On my trip the price of gas was in the $2.45 to $2.75 range depending on
where in the country I was, which was also based on various taxes, etc.
When I was in Colorado I filled up (topped off each morning) it was like
$2.50 a gallon. I drove through NM and into Texas and the first station I
saw gas was $3.79 a gallon!
I was in the west Texas oil fields, pumps all over the place, and the
highest price I had seen anywhere.
But then it was at a cross roads and the only gas station (or anything
else) in literally 100 miles, so they could charge whatever they wanted.
Once back in civilization it was back to normal.
That Chevy Cruse I was driving at the time was a 4 cylinder, with a
turbo, and got over 40 mph on the highway. I could drive all day on a half tank.
The Nissan Versa that replaced it averaged the same.
