Greetings, Mr. Hirschfeld:
We have corresponded with Herman Wallace, a prisoner at Louisiana State
Penitentiary (Angola) for almost 3 years. He and his friend have been
a big help to us in understanding the legal system. We try to help
them if we can.
Herman will have his first hearing in many years in April. He is an
innocent man who has worked hard to have his wrongful convictions
overturned. There is a book about him and those who were charged
with him. It is "Dying to Tell" by C. Murry Henderson (who was the
head warden at the time of the murder) and Ann Butler. They expose
the frame-up of Herman and his co-defendants.
I asked Herman to write a brief account of his story and said I
would ask for permission to write it out for different echoes.
This man truly deserves to be heard. He has spent about 24 years
in solitary, yet his humanity shines through as brightly as those
who were prisoners of war. He helps others, and we are praying
that it may now be his turn.
Will you give me permission to post his story? At present, it is on
3 legal-sized pages, double spaced. I think I can edit it somewhat
without losing anything (long ago, editing was my craft).
I will hope for a positive reply from you. Thank you for your time.
