i haven't tried any USB stuff on my eCS box but it seems that everything is
detected as far as the chipset goes... that box is an old Gateway PIII
800mhz...

FWIW: eCS has samba access built-in already... i've not used it yes because
i'm loath to open the netbeui/netbios ports (137,138,139) between my
protected and less-protected networks...
