Suppose the glass is a hundred times as stiff as the support platform, and suppose the support platform warps .01" without the mirror. Then the mirror in contact with the support platform will warp .0001". That is about five waves. Of course, if your glass is thin, it might only be ten times as stiff as the support platform, and things get worse.... MUCH worse. . . .
