JT> VH> There's an old saying -- "A good big man will always beat a good
little
JT> VH> man."
JT>Yeah, around here it goes, no matter how bad you are, there's
JT>always someone bit badder to kick your butt. But let's face it,
JT>the odds are, that it's more likely to happen to a female then a
JT>male.
Me, I'm an Infantryman, and I've had this discussion before -- what
people who haven't been there don't understand is that combat is OPEN
ENDED. In other words, there's no point where you can say "A little
more strength WOULDN'T be an advantage."
When you start putting smaller, weaker people -- and that means females
-- in combat roles, you're always degrading your overall capability.
Of course, in the Infantry, we've so far managed to win this argument.
:-)
JT> VH> And take another look at the fracas -- this was a scuffle, as you
JT> VH> described it -- and it degenerated into a deadly force situation.
Why?
JT> VH> Because the officer couldn't hold up her end without trying deadly
JT> VH> force.
JT>Yep. Should have been cut and dried, hell, I can't count the number of
scuf
JT>I've been in, haven't shot at anybody (because of the scuffle) yet.
Bingo! When the chips are down, the weaker you are, the more you risk
a mere unpleasantry escalating into a life-threatening situation.
